The official made the recommendation at the opening of the workshop on ravines in Angola, arguing that the spread of gullies not only affects the communities but also conditions the country’s sustainable development and the ecosystem conservation.

In order to reverse the situation, among other measures, the minister pointed out the need to adopt good environmental practices.

On the other hand, she pointed out that climate change is a potentially multiplier phenomenon in ravine dislodging factors.

In turn, the governor of Moxico, Gonçalves Muandumba said that the resolution of the problems of ravines will bring physical and economic security in the lives of the populations.

Gonçalves Muandumba also spoke of the indiscriminate cutting of trees that have been registered, as well as the excavations of land in an unregulated way, whose practice, in its view, should be banned.

Under the motto “Protecting nature and preventing erosion”, the workshop addressed issues related to “human action in the emergence and aggravation of ravines”, “erosions and the particular case of ravines”, “study and characterization of ravines Angola “and monitoring of erosive processes in Angola.

Representatives from the provinces of Lunda Sul, Cuando Cubango and Moxico (host) participated in the regional meeting.
