NIGERIA AND UAE COMMITTED TO IMPROVED BILATERAL RELATIONS :

The relationship between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirate has been described as historic and beneficial to both countries.

The Minister of State Foreign Affairs Ambassador Zubairu Dada stated this when he received the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria Dr Fahad Altaffaq on a courtesy visit in Abuja.

Ambassador Dada said the relationship between the two countries could be trace to the time of the founding fathers of both nations.

He commended the support of UAE to Nigeria especially in the areas of security and humanitarian interventions.

The Minister further solicited the support and cooperation of the UAE in the implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements so far reached between the two countries.

Earlier, the United Arab Emirate Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Fahad Altaffaq
said he was in the ministry to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and as well seek his support and understanding for better diplomatic ties.

He said UAE is totally committed and looking for to an improved relationship with Nigeria especially in the promotion of investment in the non-oil sector of the Nigerian economy.

Ambassador Altaffaq expressed the interest of his country businessmen to invest more in sectors such as Power, Telecommunications, Education and Hospitality industry.

He said to demonstrate this commitment UAE investors have recently established a private University in Kano to help move the education sector to the next level.

Ambassador Altaffaq said UAE had also provided so many interventions to help curb humanitarian crises across many states in Nigeria.

He therefore used the occasion to solicited for more Nigeria’s support to Global peace and harmony.
