The World Bank has approved a $3billion loan for Nigeria to expand its electricity transmission and distribution networks.

The finance minister Zainah Ahmed confirmed this while briefying journalists on Sunday about Nigeria’s participation at the annual meeting of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund Washington DC.

She said the loan would be released in four tranches of $750m each begining from next year.
